Still Not on Instagram? Here’s why you should be

RNN Social

Created in 2010, Instagram has grown to over 1 billion active monthly users as of June 2018 creating huge opportunities for individuals, brands and businesses to connect on a local, national and global scale.

Since then, many brands and businesses have used Instagram to build audiences and turn those fans into loyal customers using images, videos and stories to create a brand story and build meaningful relationships with potential customers.

Between July 2016 and March 2018, Instagram is the only social media platform that has witnessed a sustained and continued growth in their usage. Facebook, although still the largest platform, is arguably only sustaining momentum, whereas Instagram continues to actively grow.

If you’re not in it, you can’t win it.

Here are three reasons why your company or brand should be on Instagram…

It’s FREE

It's essentially a free marketing tool that allows you to reach potential customers without having to go door-knocking on the Internet. It has never been easier for brands to engage with audiences or people who may just be your next customer.

It’s the social media platform of choice

As we mentioned at the beginning, Instagram has over a BILLION active monthly users.
Research recently carried out by Wolfgang Digital highlights that almost half of the 18-34
category surveyed picked Instagram as their preferred social media platform[1]. Regardless of the target age of your audience, you should be able to target them on Instagram, given that about a third of all global internet users are on Instagram, so it’s unlikely your audience will be completely absent.

Users want to engage with brands on Instagram

In 2015, Forrester examined how social media users engaged with the top 50 global brands. Analysing more than 2,400 posts and 11.8 million user interactions, it highlighted that interactions with brands are highest on Instagram when compared to every other social network . 2.261% of users interacted with brands on Instagram whereas only 0.216% interacted on Facebook.

If your potential customers are on Instagram, then that’s where you should be too, providing the platform, content and opportunity for them to engage with you.
